Sell tickets at the door

Sell tickets for cash at the box office, let the buyer straight in, and hand over the takings at the end of a shift.

Make a sale

  1. Open Gate, then Sell at the door for the event. You can also start from the event's Attendees.
  2. Choose how many of each ticket. Each shows its price and how many are left. For a table, that's tables left and the people they seat: 3 left, for 30 people.
  3. Add the buyer's name and phone if they want their tickets by SMS. Both are optional.
  4. Keep Let them in now ticked to admit them as they pay, then choose the button that says the amount, such as Take GH₵4,500.00 cash.

The total says what you're selling, such as 1 ticket · 10 people · GH₵4,500.00. With Let them in now, all ten of a table are let in at once.

The screen then shows a QR code: the buyer scans it with their phone camera to keep their tickets, a QR code for each person. With a phone number, they're also sent by SMS. Choose Sell another for the next buyer.

If the network drops as you press the button, press it again once it's back. Each sale is made once, however many times it's sent.

Hand over the cash

Your sales today shows the tickets you sold, with the people they let in when any were tables, and the cash you should be holding. People who see the money, such as finance, also see Door sales today: each seller's takings, to check against the cash handed over.

Fees and refunds for cash sales

  • Durbar takes no fee on cash sales, since no payment provider handles them.
  • A buyer who paid cash gets their money back from the box office, not online. When you refund their order, it's recorded as cash handed back.
  • If you cancel the event, buyers who paid cash are told you'll give their money back, and the refund is recorded as owed.
  • Tickets sold at the door don't carry a seat, even at a seated event. Place those buyers yourself.

The Box office role can sell, scan and check tickets. Guest list passes are never sold at the door.
