Checkpoints: serve meals and check tickets at the door

Serve each ticket once a day at a meal checkpoint, and let security check tickets without letting anyone in.

Checked against Durbar on

A checkpoint is a place besides the gate where tickets are scanned. A meal checkpoint, such as Lunch or Dinner, serves each ticket once a day. A check-only checkpoint, such as Security, checks a ticket and records nothing.

Add a checkpoint

  1. On the event's page, open Checkpoints and choose Add a checkpoint.
  2. Choose Serve a meal or Check only, and name it.
  3. For a meal, tick the tickets it serves, such as Delegate but not Visitor. Leave them all unticked to serve every ticket.
  4. Choose Add checkpoint.

Serve a meal

In the scanner, set Scanning at to the meal. Each scan says Served, Already served with the time, or Not for this ticket when the ticket's type isn't on the list. Being served doesn't let anyone in or out: the gate still admits them. Meals work offline, like the gate.

Check tickets without letting anyone in

Set Scanning at to Check only, or to a check-only checkpoint. Each scan says whether the ticket is real, whose it is, and whether they came in today. Nothing is recorded, so a check never uses up a ticket.

Give the kitchen or security a pass

Make a gate pass and choose the checkpoint in Where it scans. The pass opens straight to that checkpoint. A pass for a check-only checkpoint can only check tickets.

Removing a checkpoint stops it taking scans and stops its passes. Who it served stays on the attendance sheet.
