Rentals: list your items, kits and delivery zones
Put chairs, canopies, sound and more on the rentals marketplace, with prices, deposits, kits and delivery fees.
Checked against Durbar on
Rentals lets you list event equipment that people find on Durbar's rentals marketplace, book for their dates, and pay for by MoMo or card. You need payouts set up before you can take payments.
Add an item
- In the console, open Rentals and choose New item.
- Give it a Name, a Category such as Chairs and seating or Sound and PA, and a few words in About it.
- Set a Price per day, and if you like a Price per event: one price for up to 3 days, with the day rate for each day after. Renters pay whichever comes to less.
- Set a Deposit per unit, or leave it at nothing.
- Under How it's booked, choose Instant: renters book and pay or On request: you accept first.
- Set How many you have, the Fewest per order, and Days between rentals for cleaning and transport, up to 30.
On the item's Settings tab, add up to 8 photos (the first is the cover, and each needs a short description) and up to 20 specs, such as size or power. Items with photos are listed first.
What's free, by quantity
Durbar counts how many of each item are free on each day, after your days between rentals. The item's Availability tab shows the next 28 days. Two renters can never both get the last units. Use Take off the list to hide an item from the marketplace.
What isn't in your yard isn't free: items in repair, items missing, and items still out after their rental should have come back. The marketplace, your calendars and new orders all count them as taken until you release them or check them in.
Stock: out, in repair and missing
On an item's Availability tab, Stock shows how many are Free today, Out with renters, In repair and Missing. Under it, the Stock ledger lists every dispatch, return, release and write-off, with who recorded it and when. Nothing in the ledger is ever changed or deleted.
- Release from repair: once mended, they can be booked again straight away, exactly as many as you release.
- Mark found: missing ones that turned up can be booked again.
- Write off: for ones beyond repair or never coming back. You own that many fewer, and this can't be undone.
- Put in repair: for ones you find damaged in the yard, so nobody books them.
Make a kit
Choose New kit to sell items together, such as 100 chairs, 4 canopies and a PA, at one price and deposit. A kit uses up to 20 of your own items and has no stock of its own: it's free only while every part is free.
Delivery, pickup and deposits
Open Delivery and deposits from the Rentals page.
- Under Delivery, add zones: a whole region, or one town, each with a delivery fee for there and back, charged once per order. A town's own fee wins over its region's. Renters outside every zone can't choose delivery.
- Renters may collect, and Where they collect. The address is shown to the renter only once the order is confirmed, as is your Phone for renters.
- Claim window: how long after a return you may keep some of a deposit for damage, from 24 hours to 7 days.
