Waitlists

How people join a waitlist when tickets sell out, and how freed tickets are offered.

Checked against Durbar on

When a ticket type sells out, its event page offers a waitlist instead. People ask for 1 to 10 tickets and give their name and a phone or email. Joining twice keeps their first place.

How offers go out

  • When tickets come free, after a refund for example, they are offered to the waitlist in the order people joined.
  • Each offer goes by SMS or email with a link, and holds the tickets for 60 minutes.
  • The link opens the event with the tickets ready to pay for. After an hour the offer lapses and moves on.
  • A request bigger than what's free waits its turn; nobody behind it jumps ahead.

The event's Sales section shows how many people are waiting for each ticket type.
