Guest lists: add, import and sort your guests

Start a guest list for an event, import it from Excel or a CSV file, and sort guests by list and category.

Checked against Durbar on

Guests works with Events: a guest list always belongs to an event. One event can have several lists, such as the bride's family, sponsors and staff.

Start a list

  1. In the console, open Guests and choose New guest list. Events that don't have a list yet are shown with Start a list for beside them.
  2. Give it a List name, and set Plus-ones each: how many people each guest may bring, from 0 to 20.
  3. Add guests one at a time with Add a guest, or import them all at once.

Categories cut across lists. Use the suggested ones (VIP, Family, Friends, Corporate, Press, Sponsors, Staff) or type your own, then filter the table by category, list, reply or invitation.

Import from Excel or a CSV file

  1. On the event's guest page, choose Import guests.
  2. Upload a CSV file, or copy the cells from Excel or Google Sheets, headings included, and paste them.
  3. Check how the columns were matched. Headings like Mobile, WhatsApp, Tel or Remarks are recognised; without headings, phone and email columns are spotted from what's in them.
  4. Read the preview, then import.

Only a name is required. The other columns are surname, phone, email, category, plus-ones and notes. You can import up to 2,000 rows at a time.

  • Will be skipped: rows with no name, rows repeated in the file, and people already on a list.
  • Added with something left out: a phone, email or plus-ones value that didn't make sense is kept in the guest's notes, so nothing is lost.
  • No phone or email: the guest is added, but can only be invited by sharing their link yourself.

Work on many guests at once

Tick guests in the table to Invite, Change category, Approve, Decline or Remove them together. Export CSV downloads the list with everyone's replies.
