Take deposits, set terms and sell add-ons

Ask for a refundable deposit, have bookers accept your terms, choose your cancellation rule, ask questions and sell extras.

Checked against Durbar on

Open the space, go to its Settings tab and find Public booking terms. Bookings already made keep the terms they agreed to.

What you can set

  • Deposit: a refundable amount paid with the booking. It needs a payout account, and Durbar takes no fee on it.
  • Terms bookers accept: your rules, up to 4,000 characters. Bookers tick I accept these terms.
  • Bookers can cancel a paid booking themselves: set Full refund until (hours before) and Refund after that (percent of the price).
  • Add a question: up to 10, each one required or not.
  • Add an add-on: up to 20 extras, such as a projector, with a Price each and Most per booking. If you also run rentals, Takes stock from ties it to an item, so it can't be oversold.

Choose Save booking terms. Priced add-ons need a payout account too.

What the booker sees

The price says it comes with a refundable deposit, and the booking page sets out the cancellation rule before they pay. A space with a deposit or priced add-ons can't be booked to repeat by the public.

Give the deposit back

  • If the booker cancels, the deposit always goes back. The price follows your rule, and the cancel screen shows the amount.
  • If you cancel, everything goes back.
  • After the booking, open it, enter any amount in Keep from the deposit with Why, and choose Settle deposit. To return it all, keep nothing.
Durbar doesn't release a booking's deposit by itself, so settle each one after the event. If you keep part of it, the booker is told by SMS, so make sure you have their phone number.
